People often ask about aluminum or true wrought iron. We explain those honestly below. What we fabricate and install is steel, finished for Georgia weather.
The middle ground — and the reason we’ve built this way since 2014. If the fence needs to double as security, not just mark a line, steel is the material that earns its weight.
Light, it never rusts, and it racks easily on slopes. It’s also a softer metal — mainly decorative, not a real security barrier, and it dents more easily.
We don’t build our lines in aluminum. If a project is purely decorative and low-security, we’ll say so — and still specify steel when the entrance has to work as a barrier.
True forged iron is rare in new work — dense, hand-worked, and the most labor-intensive of the three. Most “wrought iron” on the market is steel styled to match.
Choose authentic wrought iron for historic restoration. For most Georgia properties, steel delivers the same look at a more sensible cost and maintenance level.
Two steel fences can look identical off the truck and age completely differently.
Galvanizing bonds zinc to the steel as a sacrificial layer. Powder coat gives custom color. Duplex does both — zinc underneath, color on top. That’s our recommendation for most ornamental projects. Read the full breakdown in the Finish Guide.
